Biography

Fabrizio Plessi (Reggio Emilia - Italy, 1940) Lives and works in Venice - Italy.

Fabrizio Plessi attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, later becoming a painting professor. Since 1968, water constitutes the main theme of his artwork, developed through installations, movies, videotapes and performances.

His pieces have been exhibited at the Biennale di Venezia in 1970 and in the following edition in 1972. In 1980 he took part in the Cinema Festival, Venize, presenting Liquid Movie. Plessi studies the connection between the representation and the reality of the liquid element, amplified by the new technological possibilities. In 1985, a whide retrospective of the artist took place in Milan, it is considered the first environmental video-installation exhibition in Italy.
