Menhir Gallery is pleased to present Gianfranco Zappettini, an invitation to The Bounty Killart, an exhibition born from the dialogue between the great Italian analytical master Gianfranco Zappettini and the younger generation of Turin-based art collective The Bounty Killart. This dialogue stems from the now established artist Gianfranco Zappettini's need to engage with a generation of emerging artists whose practices seem far removed from his own. On this occasion, Menhir Gallery thus becomes a battleground, but also a meeting point, between a way of conceiving sacred art, a search for the essence of painting, and a more playful approach. The exhibition will be accompanied by a catalog, with an essay by Paola Valenti. This text can only begin with a question: what could induce Gianfranco Zappettini, internationally recognized as one of the most rigorous interpreters of research focused on the analysis of painting, to invite The Bounty KillArt, a name that conceals the identity of artists much younger than him and dedicated to practicing sculpture with a Surrealist influence and vaguely pop/postmodern flavor, to engage in a dialogue with one of his works? Artists Gianfranco Zappettini and The Bounty Killart, as well as the exhibition curator, Professor Paola Valenti, will be present at the opening to discuss the artists' work with the public.
