Giuseppe Maraniello was born in Naples in 1945.
In 1990 he took part in the XLIV Venice Art Biennial with a solo exhibition and a catalogue presentation by Lea Vergine. In 1993 the Galleria Civica in Trento and the Galleria d'Arte Moderna in Bologna - Villa delle Rose dedicated him a large anthological exhibition. He has created numerous permanent works in public spaces, including a piece created with Arnaldo Pomodoro for the St. John Evangelist Cathedral in Milwaukee, WI, USA, and a life-size bronze crucifix situated behind the altar at Saint Thomas Chapel, Yale University, New Haven, CT, USA in 2014.
